About Jamey S.

Key experience
From MRI Supervisor to Advanced Modality Operations Manager
When I joined the MUSC team in April 2021 as the MRI Supervisor, I was not aware that I would be given the opportunity to advance my career and knowledge on so many levels. Only six short months after becoming the MRI Supervisor, I was given the opportunity to become the MRI System Supervisor as well. Over the next few years, I maintained both titles while also becoming the interim CT Supervisor for several months, where I gained a wealth of knowledge. In August of 2023, I was asked if I would like the opportunity to take on an interim position as the Advanced Modality Operations Manager. Of course, I accepted. Once the permanent position opened for applicants, I applied and interviewed. Now, I am, officially, the Advanced Modality Operations Manager over CT, MRI, NM, and US.
Current position
Leadership advancement from supervisor to manager
Currently, I am the Operations Manager of Advanced Modalities. I work directly with the supervisors of CT, MRI, NM and US. Together, we oversee the daily operations in each modality to include patient care and safety, staffing, equipment, and productivity, along with many other modality specific items.
Main motivation
Care Team Members
During my career at MUSC, I have met hundreds of amazing people that I am blessed to see and work with every day. The care team members that I work directly with, along with upper leadership, give me the motivation to advance my career.

The road to success is always under construction....
"Never stop learning; knowledge is the key to unlocking your potential." In any job, especially healthcare and in radiology, specifically, there is a vast world of knowledge and learning. Having an open mind and the drive to chase excellence paves the road to success.
Greatest achievement
Virtual Cockpit- MRI
In 2023, MUSC became the first hospital in South Carolina to offer remote scanning in MRI. This innovative concept is known as the Virtual Cockpit. I had the pleasure of leading this project as the MRI System Supervisor. MUSC can now remotely log into the MRI scanners at other locations to perform specialized MRI scans. The Virtual Cockpit provides the opportunity to perform studies that would not otherwise be offered while training MRI techs across the state.
