Job Summary/Purpose: The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) reports to the assigned operational leader. The ATC is to provide a clinic, community and out of the local area based point of service for sports related prevention, care, coverage and rehabilitation, referral and marketing in the role of a physician extender for musculoskeletal injuries within a defined environment for athletes; school aged, adolescent, early adult, middle adult and late adult. Under the general supervision of the physician, physical therapist, physician assistant and or nurse practitioner.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Graduate of an accredited college with a BS/BA. (Master’s degree in Athletic Training preferred). Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers(BOC). Certified as an Athletic Trainer in South Carolina by DHEC.
Additional Information: Must be able to adjust communication both verbal and non-verbal to interact appropriately and effectively with a wide variety of age groups including school age adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Weekend and evening hours to cover games, tournaments, special events and sports performance training sessions. Previous experience with high school, collegiate and/or professional sport teams, as well as cross coverage across the full spectrum of high school athletics preferred. Job includes local and travel responsibilities: pre- and post- game treatment as well as game coverage. Off season responsibilities include ATC coverage of high schools, recreation, and professional sporting events.
