Job Summary: The Department of Neurological Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) seeks an experienced Neuro-Oncology Surgeon with expertise in brain and spine tumor management through surgical therapies. There is a great need to cover the fast-growing current census of such patients and a need for such expertise. The position is open rank on a non-tenure track and is dependent upon the qualifications and accomplishments of the applicant and will integrate into our existing Neuro-Oncology Division.

The Department of Neurological Surgery at MUSC is a rapidly growing academic program located in beautiful Charleston South Carolina. Charleston is one of the most historic cities in the southeastern United States and offers a wide variety of recreational activities including swimming, sailing, kayaking, fishing and golf. There are numerous restaurants, and the Spoleto Festival brings exceptional cultural events to the area each year.

Candidate must be a fellowship trained Neurosurgeon and have a minimum of 5 years experience post residency/fellowship.  Also, BC/BE in Neurological Surgery, and eligible for a South Carolina medical license. The department has both strong clinical and research programs and laboratories. Candidates with experience in research will be given higher consideration.

Successful applicants should possess excellent clinical skills and have experience teaching fellows, residents and students. Research experience in clinical trials preferred. Applicant must be Board Certified or Board Eligible.
