Job Summary: The department of Regenerative Medicine is recruiting for a research specialist I. The research specialist I will work under general supervision by the PI and Lab manager and will be part of a basic science research laboratory that focuses on cardiac and skeletal muscle biology and pathophysiology. The position requires motivated, well-organized individuals with excellent communication skills.

Payscale Salary Range: UNIV-Band 4: $28,216.00 - $40,210.00 - $52,204.00 (min - mid - max)

Job Duties: 

• 30% - Independently perform basic molecular biology techniques including DNA isolation, construction, and expression in the cells. - (Essential)
• 30% - Independently perform biochemical techniques including protein preparation and ligand binding assay. - (Essential)
• 20% - Independently perform tissue culture techniques including maintenance of the cells and transfection of the DNA plasmids - (Essential)
• 20% - Perform basic lab maintenance responsibilities including glassware washing, solution making and laboratory organization. - (Essential)

Preferred Experience & Additional Skills: Previous laboratory experience is considered helpful but not required.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A high school diploma and two years work experience in a clinical or research setting; a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or other natural, life or health care science may be substituted for the two years of required experience.
