Job Description Summary

As a key member of the Advancement Services team, the Analyst will support a comprehensive Prospect Development program through data-driven analysis, portfolio management, and pipeline strategy. This role focuses on optimizing prospect portfolios, analyzing donor pipelines, and delivering actionable insights to fundraising staff with some research responsibilities.

This role reports to the Director of Prospect Development and is based in Charleston, SC.

Job Description

This position is on-site and based in Charleston, SC.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Experience in prospect development, data analysis, fundraising operations, or related field preferred

  • Experience in healthcare fundraising preferred

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and apply data

  • Experience working with CRM systems (Raiser’s Edge preferred) and data tools (Excel required, visualization tools and Power BI a plus)

  • Ability to translate data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences

  • Knowledge of prospect management principles and fundraising pipelines required

  • Commitment to confidentiality and data integrity

35% Prospect Management & Portfolio Strategy

  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of prospect management policies, portfolio standards and best practices

  • Monitor and evaluate fundraiser portfolios for alignment with capacity, engagement, and strategy

  • Recommend portfolio adjustments, including assignments, removals, and rebalancing

  • Track and report on key metrics such as portfolio size, movement, and stage progression

  • Assist in conversations on all aspects of Prospect Management including portfolio optimization, system training, and process change management

25% Data Analytics & Reporting

  • Analyze donor and prospect data to identify trends and opportunities

  • Analyze portfolio composition and performance to identify gaps and opportunities

  • Develop and maintain recurring and ad-hoc reports on pipeline health and portfolio performance

  • Support maintenance of dashboards and visualizations to track key metrics

  • Evaluate effectiveness of prospect development strategies and recommend improvements

15% Strategic Prospect Identification

  • Identify and vet new prospects through data analysis, screening results, and external tools

  • Segment and prioritize prospects based on capacity, affinity, and engagement indicators

  • Support targeted prospecting initiatives aligned with institutional fundraising priorities

  • Utilize tools such as iWave, LexisNexis, SEC filings and other related platforms to inform identification strategies

15% Targeted Research & Insights

  • Deliver concise, high-impact research and analysis to support cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies

  • Synthesize biographical, philanthropic, and financial information into actionable narrative

  • Prioritize research requests based on strategic value and portfolio needs

  • Ensure compliance with confidentiality, HIPAA, FERPA, and data privacy standards while maintaining CRM records

10% Data Integrity & Screenings

  • Manage and analyze wealth screening data to support prospect identification and capacity validation

  • Ensure accurate integration of screening data into the CRM

  • Conduct periodic rescreening and data audits to maintain current and reliable records

  • Partner with colleagues to uphold data integrity and consistency across systems

5% Other duties as assigned

Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions. Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing 20 lbs (+/-) unassisted. Lift from 36” to overhead 15 lbs. Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces.
