Job Description Summary

The Strategic Sourcing Category Manager is a highly visible position with accountability at the system level to develop and execute sourcing initiatives for medical devices and supplies. This position will assist in the management of $50M in aggregate spend. This position is responsible for assessing opportunities and formulating sourcing strategies, co-leading a system-wide value analysis team, and interacting with business partners and key stakeholders. This position is expected to build strategic alliances with key stakeholders as it relates to successfully executing our Supply Chain Strategy.
•Co-leads a system-wide value analysis team. This involves product research, cost/reimbursement analysis, and presentation development in support of value analysis process.
•Assists with the development and implementation of strategies and processes for reducing supply expense while not forfeiting quality of care.
•Monitors, communicates, and makes improvements to product utilization within assigned categories.
•Collaborates with physicians in identifying and implementing improvements and standardization in support of initiatives.
•Manage assigned sourcing initiatives including scoping analysis, RFP development, proposal evaluations, negotiations, communication of recommendations, contracting, and ongoing supplier management.
•Monitor and report compliance for system-wide contracts; identify recurring trends and key opportunities for vendor or internal improvements.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of relevant experience.  Relevant experience would include clinical practice and post graduate fellowship.
