Job Description Summary
The Chemical Technician will be responsible for servicing the chemical treatment programs in all MUHA Facilities. Monitor and maintain the chemical treatment programs for both the boilers and the cooling towers at all MUHA facilities.
Job Description
Incumbent will monitor, maintain adjust, and repair building Steam systems owned or leased by the Medical University of South Carolina in order to ensure safety, environmental control, and economy of mechanical, electrical, and other systems. Incumbent should have a working knowledge of Boilers, DA Tanks, Heat Exchangers, Water Softeners, Surge Tanks, and all equipment related to the steam systems.
Additional Job Description
Minimum Training and Education: High School diploma or equivalent (GED) and two years work experience with Boilers, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Piping Systems, Heat Exchangers, Water Softeners, and all equipment related to water chemistry and treatment systems for these items. Problem solving capabilities once trained are an essential quality. The ability to work independently in the field as well as relate to engineers and operators is imperative. Incumbent should have a working knowledge of Boilers, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Piping Systems, Heat Exchangers, Water Softeners, and all equipment related to water chemistry and treatment systems for these items.
