Job Description

MUSC Health Catawba Division is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Cardiovascular Services to lead the continued growth and advancement of cardiovascular care across the division. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong clinical leader to shape the future of cardiovascular services while building exceptional teams, improving outcomes, and expanding access to advanced procedural care.

As the Director, you will provide operational and clinical leadership across a growing cardiovascular service line, overseeing services including the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, Vascular Interventional Radiology, Stress Testing, TEE procedures, Cardioversions, procedural recovery, and future cardiovascular services.

What You'll Lead

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for cardiovascular services across the Catawba Division.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, staffing, scheduling, productivity, financial performance, and resource utilization.
  • Lead cardiovascular quality initiatives, accreditation readiness, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement.
  • Support American College of Cardiology (ACC) accreditation preparation and ongoing readiness.
  • Coordinate cardiovascular quality metrics, data collection, reporting, and improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with physicians and administrative leaders to develop evidence-based cardiovascular care pathways.
  • Identify opportunities for service expansion, new technology, and innovative cardiovascular procedures.
  • Support the growth of interventional and minimally invasive cardiovascular services.
  • Develop staffing, equipment, capital, and operational plans to support future program growth.
  • Champion exceptional patient experiences and service recovery.
  • Maintain policies, procedures, and evidence-based standards of practice.

You will play a key role in expanding interventional cardiovascular capabilities, developing new programs, evaluating emerging technology, and creating operational models that position MUSC Health Catawba Division for continued cardiovascular growth.

Lead Great Teams

You'll directly lead clinical, technical, and support teams while creating an environment where people can grow and succeed.

Quality & Accreditation Champion

You'll serve as the departmental leader for cardiovascular quality, accreditation, and regulatory readiness, including:

  • ACC accreditation preparation and maintenance
  • Cardiovascular quality monitoring
  • NCDR registry participation and quality reporting
  • Performance improvement initiatives
  • Regulatory surveys and audits
  • Development and monitoring of corrective action plans
  • Collaboration with physicians to improve cardiovascular outcomes

Additional Job Description

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Cardiovascular Technology, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related healthcare field.
  • RN, RCIS, RCES, or equivalent cardiovascular credential required or strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of cardiovascular clinical experience in Cath Lab, Interventional Cardiology, Vascular Interventional Radiology, or related procedural services.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive leadership experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications with the American Heart Association

Preferred:

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience leading both Cardiac Catheterization and Vascular Interventional Radiology programs.
  • Experience with ACC accreditation programs and cardiovascular regulatory readiness.
  • Experience with NCDR registries, quality reporting, and performance improvement.
  • Experience with cardiovascular service line growth and program development.
