Job Description
Leads all operations and activities of inpatient and outpatient physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, acute rehab center, HealthPlex and wellness, to include staff evaluations, student affiliations, quality assurance, acquisition of necessary supplies and equipment in both the main hospital and the off-site locations. Also responsible for sports medicine service line and program development.
Master’s Degree in a healthcare and/or rehab discipline required. A degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Therapy preferred. Must be licensed or eligible to be licensed in the state of South Carolina as a therapist. Two years' experience as a staff therapist and three years' experience providing supervision preferred.
Primarily works in a hospital, office, and/or fitness environment. Requires judgement and action on short notice. May experiences pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. Must be able to travel. Occasionally subjected to long, irregular hours and interruptions.

Prepares and monitors departmental budgets.
Physical requirements are primarily related to the essential functions of any job. In order to perform the essential functions of this position, you must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, talk and hear.
Must be able to lift or exert energy up to 10 pounds 25% of the time and up to 25 pounds 50% of the time, and 50lbs. 25% of the time.
Must have close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) and color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors). Must have distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), and depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances) and must have the ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into focus).
Must possess the ability to read, analyze and interpret complex scientific, clinical or business journals, financial reports or legal documents. Must have the ability to respond to sensitive inquiries or complaints from guests, regulatory agencies, staff and members of the business community. Must possess the ability to write persuasive correspondence, speeches and articles for publication. Must have the ability to effectively present information to executive management, large public groups, and boards of directors.
Must have the ability to work with complex mathematical concepts related to probability, statistical inferences, and to apply these concepts to practical situations.
Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with concrete and abstract concepts and interpret verbal, nonverbal and written instructions.
This position primarily interacts with all age groups and provides direct patient care. All staff members must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to meet the physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related needs of the persons in the assigned work area.
