Job Title: MUHA_EB35 – Advanced Practice Provider (APP – NP/PA) – Hospital Medicine – MUSC Health Black River Medical Center
Job Summary/Purpose: The Hospital Medicine Department at MUSC Health – Black River Medical Center, located in Cades, SC, is seeking skilled Acute Care trained Advanced Practice Providers interested in providing fulltime adult in-patient care in our new, state-of-the-art hospital opening January, 2023.
MUSC Health Black River Medical Center will consist of 63,500 square feet with 25 licensed beds, full operating and diagnostic services, a 16-bay emergency department, and the latest capabilities in telehealth.
Fair Labor Standards Act Status: Hourly/Non- exempt
Hours per week: 84
Scheduled Work Hours/Shift: 7 on/7 off schedule.
Opportunities for both day and night shifts; 7:00am -7:00pm or 7:00pm - 7:00am

Required Training and Experience
Required Minimum Training
Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant.
Or
Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program and currently licensed as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
Completion of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner Program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner with prior hospital medicine and/or ICU experience will also be considered.
Required Experience:
Must have at least 6 months of hospital medicine experience.
Preferred Training and Experience:
1 year as a Physician Assistant or FNP/AGACNP in Hospital medicine. ICU experience a plus but not required.
Degree of Supervision
Acute Care NP or PA will be assigned a Primary Supervising/Collaborating Physician employed by MUSC and will report directly to this physician.

Provides direct care to patients through the following activities:
Physical Requirements
Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions. Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required. Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift, lower, push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs (+/-) unassisted, exert up to 50 lbs of force, lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs. Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces.
