The Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (MBS) Program Manager serves as the liaison between MUSC Health’s Bariatric program and the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP). In accordance with MBSAQIP standards, this role is responsible for managing the accreditation process and ensuring continuous compliance with MBSAQIP requirements. This position maintains relevant policies and procedures, patient education, outcomes data collection, quality improvement efforts, and education of relevant staff in the various aspects of the metabolic and bariatric surgery patient with a focus on patient safety. This role assists with planning, developing, implementing, coordinating and evaluating the healthcare services programs for bariatric surgery patients; aged adolescent to older adult. This position collaborates with stakeholders within the organization to facilitate accurate and efficient flow of patients throughout the healthcare system. The Program Manager identifies opportunities to expand the reach, access and promotion of the Bariatric Program through community outreach, advocacy.Job Description

Plans, organizes, facilitates, monitors, and evaluates activities and functions of the department/functional business area based employee/organizational goals. Collaborates with leaders to establish operating procedures, enhance clinical/non-clinical workflows, increase productivity, and improve overall quality outcomes and operational efficiencies within a variety of delivery settings.
Additional Job Description
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university and licensed as a Registered Nurse or Registered Dietician with a minimum of five years’ experience required; a Master's degree in Nursing, Health Administration, or a relevant field preferred. Previous experience in building strong physician relations is valuable. Strategic planning and analytical skills are required. Problem-solving and service recovery skills; ability to manage multiple projects; Able to work independently with minimal supervision; strong written and verbal communication skills; and discretely manage confidential patient and market information. Must exercise sound judgment; possess personal resilience, patience, perseverance, and enthusiasm. Occasional travel to physician offices and MUSC campus required. Current South Carolina or compact state certification, licensure, and/or registration applicable to clinical designation is required.
