Job Summary/Purpose: The Financial Project Management team reports direct to the MUSC Health Chief Financial Officer and is designed to move MUSC Health Finance to an agile, forward-facing, innovative structure. Poised to take MUSC Health Finance to a new level of agility and innovation, this director will lead a team of up to 10 FTEs and collaborate mainly on cultural and operational issues surrounding building systematic process to bend the cost curve and build a strong financial footprint. Will provide guidance, direction and oversight for the management and performance of this elite team involved in creating and implementing both analysis and reports that help maximize the effectiveness of MUSC Health Finance innovative initiatives and strategies. This position requires strong leadership, organizational and time management skills along with healthcare and clinical business knowledge. This director is a strategic thinker who acts as liaison between the business, clinicians, technology and MUSC Health to meet expectations. This director facilitates knowledge and comprehension of analysis for senior and executive leadership and works with the CFO to provide advisement and recommendation to maximize effectiveness of new initiatives and strategies.
Minimum Training and Education:
Master’s degree in business or healthcare with seven years of experience. Work experience in a large hospital or health system required with academic medical experience preferred.
PMP Certification required.
Strong leadership and organizational skills and abilities. Ability to facilitate smooth operation of team through effective management of personnel.
Expert knowledge in of operations in the healthcare industry and a strong understanding of business processes. Ability to work with teams and direct an organized work effort. Competent to direct and advise regarding work on complex analysis assignments that will bend the cost curve. Ability to achieve deadlines and manage heavy workloads. Ability to work with all levels of personnel from senior management team to entry level across MUSC Health. Ability to take part in development of strategies and interventions to affect cost and quality. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with proven ability to initiate and develop productive collaborative partnerships.
Serves as a consultant, controller and change agent by advising, recommending and overseeing progress of team. Approves and assists with the development, implementation and operationalization of plans, processes and systems to facilitate agile, forward-facing and innovative change designed to achieve superior.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: PMP Certification required.
