Job Summary/Purpose: Responsible for ongoing review of medical records to ensure compliance with established nationally recognized quality patient outcomes. This individual must assume a leadership role and be able to work well with medical staff, nursing and other ancillary departments. This is a position that requires attention to detail and ability to function well under stress.
Minimum Training and Education: Graduate of a school of professional nursing. Previous acute care clinical experience required; Core Measures abstraction experience preferred. Attention to detail and follow-up necessary. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, hospital staff, physicians and community resources required. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to work under stress.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: RN or LPN required.

(Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand. (Continuous) Ability to work indoors. (Continuous) Ability to work outdoors under all weather and temperature conditions. (Infrequent) Must possess good olfactory senses. (Continuous) Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. (Continuous) Ability to work in confined close quarters. (Frequent) Ability to fully use both legs. (Continuous) Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous) Ability to work in confined cramped quarters. (Infrequent) Ability to perform 'pinching' operations. (Frequent) Ability to match and discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. (Continuous) Ability to work in a latex free environment. (Continuous) Ability to work rotating shifts/weekends. (Frequent) May be required to obtain and maintain forklift operator certification. (Infrequent) May be required to operate recycling packer.
