The Nurse Educator is responsible for coordinating the orientation process for all nursing staff and assessing their on-hire competencies. Develops and maintains an effective staff education program, coordinating individualized orientation and continuing education for all nursing staff. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies are met through the provision of orientation sessions and the annual safety training required for all employees. Collaborates with nursing administration and compliance teams to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and facility policies. Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in the field through ongoing education and attending meetings and conferences as assigned. Needs Assessment and Performance Gap Analysis: Conducts organizational needs assessments and performance gap analysis on an ongoing basis to determine training plans and knowledge management needs.Entity

Additional Job Description
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing and a minimum of three years of applied clinical experience as an RN. Master’s degree from an accredited school of nursing preferred. A Masters Degree in Nursing may be substituted for 1 year of required experience. Extensive knowledge of the unit’s patient population, health care trends, community and regional resources and service availability to these populations. An ability to establish comparative working relationships with diverse groups and individuals, medical staff, and other health care disciplines. Current South Carolina licensure as a registered nurse or compact state. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
