The Patient Transporter plays a vital role in providing safe, courteous, and timely transportation of patients throughout the MUSC campus. This position ensures efficient patient movement between departments while maintaining the highest standards of patient care, safety, and service.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Transport patients to and from departments in a safe, timely, and respectful manner.

  • Assist with patient transfers involving stretchers, wheelchairs, or beds as appropriate.

  • Respond promptly to transport requests from clinical areas.

  • Ensure cleanliness and functionality of transport equipment.

  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

  • Collaborate with nursing and clinical staff to ensure seamless and comfortable transitions for patients.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Work Experience:

  • 0–6 months of relevant experience preferred (training provided).
