Serve as a Program Coordinator - Registered Nurse and provide comprehensive clinical, regulatory, and program coordination support for human subject's research conducted under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI) and Program Manager.

Job Description

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

This position will participate in the day-to-day operations in clinical research and perform job duties under general supervision. They will perform a variety of research assessments and serve as a liaison for the study across stakeholders. They will have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of research best practices and regulations, and they will have the ability to apply these concepts in order to determine action plans.

Responsibilities include site management and navigating study implementation of clinical trials, recruitment of study participants, scheduling study visits, data collection, lab collection and processing, conducting research protocols and assessments, and maintaining up to date regulatory files.

This position will be required to work on-site but will be eligible to work from at other times. May be required to work weekends.

Additional Job Description

Required Minimum Training and Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required and three years of related nursing experience in specialty area. 

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: 

  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.

  • Some positions require certification as a generalist in a related specialty area by the American Nurses Association (ANA).

  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

Physical Requirements:

Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions. Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required.  Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors.  Frequently lift, lower, push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs (+/-) unassisted, exert up to 50 lbs of force, lift from 36” to overhead 25 lbs.   Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces.
