Job Description Summary

$20,000 Sign-On Bonus and full benefit package available for qualified candidates!

The OR nurse provides circulating and/or scrub nurse services in the operating room during surgical procedures and assists the surgical team as needed in any other capacity according to established processes.

Shifts:
40hrs/week (4 x 10hr shifts). On-Call shifts are required and are dependent on department needs.

Job Description

Prepares the patient for scheduled procedures to assist in patient assessment.  Monitors medical condition of patients and reports changes to the appropriate personnel.

Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to assure optimal patient care.  Assists physicians with examinations, procedures related to direct patient care.  Has knowledge of all equipment, procedures and can instruct and precept personnel.

Writes initial nursing histories, assesses patient conditions and develops individual care plans for patients in the OR.

Demonstrates sensitivity to patients’ comfort and privacy and maintains a safe, therapeutic and comfortable environment for patients and families in accordance with hospital standards.

Orients, trains and instructs assigned personnel.  Cooperates with other personnel to achieve departmental objectives and maintain good employee objectives.

Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording of patient medical records maintaining all required reports, records and statistics.

Performs other miscellaneous and related duties as assigned. 

Have knowledge of ADRN standards and practices.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Requirements:

Graduation from accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred. Current RN license in the state of South Carolina. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required. Some clinical or hospital experience is preferred but not required.
