Responsible for the authorized release of information requested from patient records under the jurisdiction of the Health Information Services Department, in accordance with laws pertaining to the release of confidential information as well as departmental and institutional policy.

Under limited supervision, the Release of Information Specialist (ROI) I will assist the ROI Manager and Team Lead in supporting the mission of Health Information Services to ensure security, accuracy, & accessibility of personal health information.
Additional Job Description
Minimum Training and Education: High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years’ experience in an administrative support role within healthcare, legal or risk management, or customer service. Must have 1 year of experience with computers. Must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills; solid oral and written communication skills; good listening skills; attention to detail and the ability to multitask. Must be able to work independently and within a team. (Higher level of education can be substituted for years of experience)
