Job Description
The Registered Nurse II / Relief Staff Leader (RSL) reports to the Nurse Manager. Under general supervision, the RN II/RSL provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process. This role delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes. As assigned, this position provides department/shift leadership in RSL role.
Additional Job Description
Education: 1. Bachelor of Nursing degree and 2 years of work experience as a Registered Nurse. 2. Current license as a Registered Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. 3. Score of 90% or greater on the medication examination. 4. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent). Current Advance Cardiac Life Support
Experience: 1. Certification in specialty area is strongly preferred. 2. Extensive knowledge of the department’s patient population, health care trends, community and regional resources and service availability to these populations. 3. Demonstrated ability to establish effective collegiate working relationships with diverse groups and individuals, medical staff, and other healthcare disciplines.
Licenses/Certificates: 1. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent). Current Advance Cardiac Life Support 2. Current SC Nursing license from the State Board of Nursing. 3. Current certification on NIH stroke scale within 3 months of hire.
