The Senior Engagement Consultant is a vital member of the Office of the CEO and reports to the Director of Performance Engagement or Manager. Under limited supervision, the Senior Engagement Consultant provides client facing, consultative services to MUSC Health executive leaders and teams and serves as their lead liaison to all functions of care team engagement and patient/family engagement across the Health System. This leader is responsible for partnering with leaders across the health system and its divisions to identify, support, and enhance engagement improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for developing innovative solutions, best practices, education, and communication to optimize the engagement performance of their assigned operational leaders/business units. This role provides guidance and support in the development of patient- and family-centered Enterprise strategies and goals. The Senior Engagement Consultant provides supervision to junior consulting team members as well as supports the management of external consulting engagements and vendor relationships/contracts.Job Description
Serves as a technical expert in a specific profession and as a resource to agency leadership in the area of expertise. Coordinates agency work assignments among team members and serves as a primary resource in the resolution of problems and the identification of alternatives. Serves as the lead team member and assists in leading meeting discussions. Develops goals and objectives and incorporates plans for completion and/or implementation. Assists in the guidance and direction of staff members' development and ensures proper development in work methods, research techniques, and the understanding and application of rules and regulations. Conducts research on critical, confidential, and often highly sensitive matters which may require statutory or policy modifications. Prepares reports and advises management on findings and recommendations. Develops internal program policies and procedures and establishes strategic standards, goals and objectives for service delivery for incorporation in the agency's strategic plan. Performs research, analyzes, and summarizes data to make specific recommendations. Evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of the agency's programs and services. Consults with and advises agency leadership in the development and application of policies, procedures, and programs. Evaluates processes and recommends improvements to agency procedures, program operations, interdepartmental workflow, and organizational designs. Works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in solution or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.Additional Job Description
Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (MBA, MHA, MS, etc.) and minimum of 3 years of work experience in project management, process improvement, employee or patient engagement, or consulting. Or Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline and minimum 5 years of work experience in project management, process improvement, employee or patient engagement, consulting or other related discipline. Experience and/or certification(s) related to Business Relationship Management, Project Management, Organizational Change Management and/or Lean Six Sigma preferred. Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a demanding work environment is essential. Ability to work with multiple technical managers and project teams simultaneously is required. Strong interpersonal skills required to foster collaborative partnerships in a team environment. Prior experience with analyzing data and developing meaningful information to provide leaders support preferred. Working knowledge of Press Ganey, SharePoint, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, and project management tools preferred.
