Job Description SummaryThe Pediatric Cath Lab and Pre/Post Procedure supervisor reports to the nurse manager, Peds Heart Center. Under limited supervision, the Supervisor coordinates the clinical operations to include equipment, personnel, scheduling, financial and customer service functions of the Pediatric Cath Lab and Pre/Post Procedure unit at Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital (SJCH). This role performs complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of the pediatric cath lab equipment in accordance with radiation safety procedures.
First level management. Typically supervises one or more areas of a department. Supervises two or more professional and or support staff at work as well as their day to day activities. Typically does not have the authority to hire, fire, or promote but their input on these types of actions is highly considered. Main focus is on each employee they manage. May coordinate the business aspects of a department to include but not limited to strategy, project management, budget planning and oversight and financial operations.
Additional Job Description
Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology and five years of work experience within the specific work area; prior supervisory experience preferred. Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR /AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
