Job Summary:
The Trades Manager is responsible for supervising and directing the daily operations of both the Carpenter and Paint Shops at MUSC. This position ensures the efficient, safe, and cost-effective completion of all carpentry and painting/coating work across the University and Hospital. The manager oversees shop personnel, job assignments, scheduling, materials procurement, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and four years professional carpentry, painting, or related trades experience. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, building codes, and coating systems. Strong leadership, planning, and interpersonal skills. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. Proficient in Microsoft Office and work order management systems.
5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or construction trades, including supervisory experience preferred.
