Job Description Summary

The Department of Neurology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a board-certified neurologist with fellowship training in Epilepsy to join our faculty at the Assistant Professor level. This is an exciting opportunity to become an integral member of a well-established and growing Epilepsy Program within a nationally recognized academic medical center.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality clinical care, advancing academic initiatives, and contributing to a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

UNIV – Assistant Professor, Neurology (Epilepsy)


Minimum Training and Requirements: MD or equivalent


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive clinical care within the MUSC Epilepsy Program
  • Participate actively in the education and mentorship of medical students, neurology residents, and epilepsy fellows
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered epilepsy care
  • Engage in scholarly activity, with opportunities to develop an independent or collaborative clinical research program

The MUSC Comprehensive Epilepsy Center is a Level 4 Epilepsy Center, the highest designation awarded by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC). This distinction reflects our expertise in delivering advanced, comprehensive epilepsy care, including:

  • Full spectrum of medical and surgical therapies
  • Integrated psychosocial and supportive care

Our program is supported by a dedicated team of clinicians, researchers, and two nurse practitioners working in state-of-the-art facilities designed to meet the complex needs of epilepsy patients.
