Job Description Summary

The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy and Sleep Medicine at The Medical University of South Carolina is recruiting a physician-scientist in basic, translational, or clinical research relating to pulmonary and critical care diseases. We are looking for a talented investigator who will be able to actively contribute to our expanding portfolio of research and engage in our clinical mission. Current areas of emphasis in the Division include interstitial lung diseases, lung cancer, cystic fibrosis, critical care, and more. Available resources within the Division include a robust clinical trials unit and new state of the art laboratory facilities. Potential collaborations with Pulmonary faculty or other Departments at MUSC will be recognized as additional strengths. MUSC is located in Charleston, SC, a city noted for its historical, cultural and recreational attractions. Applicants must have a MD, MD/PhD or equivalent and have demonstrated the ability or future potential to lead an independent research program with high likelihood of sustained extramural funding. In special circumstances, applicants with PhD only may be considered. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

(Frequent) Ability to push/pull objects, up to 200 lbs., unassisted. (Frequent) Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (Continuous) Good peripheral vision capabilities.
