Job Description

The Department of Surgery at The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, SC is seeking a full-time faculty member. Job Description

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Department of Surgery is seeking a board certified/board eligible Burn Surgeon interested in an Academic Surgery. Expertise in pediatric burn care is strongly preferred. Expertise in laser scar revision and burn scar reconstruction is also preferred.

 

The South Carolina Burn Center is the only inpatient burn center in the state of South Carolina. Recently verified by the American Burn Association for both adults and pediatric burns, it has 25 total beds with nine more being added. MUSC is a level one trauma center serving the “Low Country” of South Carolina, population of over 900,000 people, and we are an American College of Surgeons Verified Level I Trauma Center.

 

The Division of Acute Care Surgery, Trauma, SCC, and Burns has fully accredited programs for general surgery residency training, surgical critical care fellowship, and a burn fellowship. Qualified candidates must demonstrate an interest in research, graduate, and undergraduate education. Required qualifications include successful completion of an approved General Surgery residency program and board eligibility or certification in Surgical Critical Care. Applicants must also have completed a burn fellowship. Plastic surgery trained candidates with burn and surgical critical care fellowship training will also be considered.
