The James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine, Medical University of South Carolina is seeking applications for a full-time, open rank, tenure track faculty position in the Department of Stomatology, Division of Diagnostic Sciences and Services. The primary responsibility of this position involves the clinical supervision and training of pre-doctoral dental students and relevant post-graduate residents, with emphasis placed on the identification and management of orofacial pain. Sources of prospective patients include the College’s student, resident, and faculty practice clinics, as well as the MUSC Health Enterprise System, and Hollings Cancer Center, the state’s only NCI accredited cancer center. The position will include opportunities in didactic teaching, research, and service to the College, University, and profession. Participation in the College’s Dental Faculty Practice for private patient care is highly encouraged.
Qualified candidates must have a DMD or DDS degree or equivalent and have completed a CODA accredited graduate program in orofacial pain management. They should have board certification, or be eligible for certification, by the American Board of Orofacial Pain. Successful applicants should have a South Carolina dental license or meet the requirements for obtaining a teaching license. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience.
