Job Description Summary

In collaboration with other Program Coordinator(s) within the research team, this individual will work across a range of studies (approx 5-8), across a range of designs (either human lab studies and/or clinical trials, often remote clinical trials), coordinating short-term needs (study procurement, participant remuneration, database reporting) and long-term needs (regulatory documentation, staff hiring and training, database creation and troubleshooting). This individual may serve as back-up to research staff who schedule and manage study visits on a day-to-day basis.

Job Description

FLSA: Salaried

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00 PM

Remote Work: In-person, 5 days per week

Job Duties:

  • 20% - Individual will take lead on regulatory communications, consisting primarily of IRB submissions (initial submissions, amendments, annual reviews, closeout) but may also include study reporting to federal agencies (annual progress reports through NIH; posting and maintenance of trials within clinicaltrials.gov) and local MUSC entities (study reporting to Hollings Cancer Center as required) and DSMBs.
  • 20% - Individual will take lead on database (RedCap) creation, maintenance, trouble-shooting, and reporting needs.
  • 15% - Individual will hold fiscal responsibility to: a) compensate study participants, and b) procure study materials, in accordance with MUSC rules and guidance, inclusive of p-card purchasing and documentation.
  • 15% - Individual will assist with hiring and training of new study staff. Individual will coordinate schedules of part-time workers and troubleshoot questions from RAs and part-time workers as they arise on a day to day basis.
  • 10% - Individual will manage study advertising and recruitment planning.
  • 10% - Individual will coordinate with off-site research sites: a) coordination of research activities within MUSC Regional Health Network, and/or b) coordination of partnering institutions and their research teams, through sub-awards to/from MUSC.
  • 5% - Individual will provide assistance with grant/manuscript preparation as needed.
  • 5% - Individual will assist in other minor duties as needed.

Preferred Training and Experience: A Bachelor's degree and two years relevant research experience, focusing on clinical trials for addictive behaviors, cancer prevention, remote trial methodologies
