Job Summary: This position will be dedicated to research tasks to obtain data for the lab. On the research side, projects are centered on investigating how to improve immunotherapy efficacy. Different cell lines and mice will be used as model systems.
The ideal candidate is very well organized and able to create documentation in Word, Excel, and Google Docs. The Research Specialist must be able to work well in a team setting. Previous experiences with mice, cell culture, and bacterial plasmid preps are desired but not required.

Payscale Salary Range: UNIV-Band 4: $29,061.00 - $41,415.00 - $53,769.00 (min - mid - max)

Job Duties: 

• 25% - Perform mouse cancer experiments. Inoculate human and mouse cancer cells into mouse models. Monitor tumor growth and mouse safety, including weights, gait, and food or water consumption. - (Essential)
• 25% - Biological assays, westerns, DNA isolation, perform microscopy, and analyze data in a reportable format. This will include manipulation of plasmids, bacteria, human, and mouse cell lines. All other methods are standard molecular biology techniques used in laboratories - (Essential)
• 15% - Maintain mouse colony. Ensure adequate breeders are routinely in stock. Wean pups, perform marking or animals, and genotype during weaning. Coordinate appropriate size of colony with PI and lab members. - (Essential)
• 10% - Keep exceptional laboratory records including lab and office supply inventory, ordering information, common stocks (plasmids, bacteria, cell lines, and antibodies). - (Essential)
• 10% - Learn from and train others on specialized lab skills. - (Essential)
• 5% - Present your research routinely to the lab at lab meetings and participate in lab meeting discussions. - (Essential)
• 5% - Process orders for the laboratory. Keep the lab safe, clean, and compliant - (Essential)
• 5% - Maintain and set up laboratory equipment. - (Essential)

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A high school diploma and two years work experience in a clinical or research setting; a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or other natural, life or health care science may be substituted for the two years of required experience.
