Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for interacting with MUSC investigators and clients requesting services provided by the MUSC Mass Spectrometry Facility and Proteomics Center. Diligent record keeping, sample tracking, and attention to detail required. Weight:15%
Responsible for biochemical preparation of samples for protein characterization and LC-MS/MS-based quantitative proteomic experiments. Weight:35%
Operation and efficient use of nanoLC-ESI-MS/MS ThermoScientific Orbitrap instrumentation. Perform project-specific database searching and computational proteomics. Weight:25%
Responsible for preparation of reports and assisting clients with publications. Weight:10%
Responsible for daily operations including ordering supplies. Weight:10.0%
Participates in weekly laboratory meetings, journal club, and training workshops. Weight:5.0%
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or other natural, life or health care science and one year work experience directly related to the assigned research area.
