Job Description
MUSC Community Physicians is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practitioner (NP or PA) Psychiatric Hospitalist to provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients at the Leatherman Behavioral Health Pavilion. The Advanced Practitioner will work collaboratively with psychiatrists, medical staff, and interdisciplinary teams to manage psychiatric patient acute and chronic medical conditions, ensuring holistic and integrated care. They will also work as a Hospitalist within the Pee Dee Division in a medical center on a rotational basis.
Fair Labor Standards Act Status: Salaried – Exempt
Scheduled Work Hours/Shift: 7AM-7PM, 7 on 7 off schedule.
Patient Population Focus: Inpatient
Patient Population Age Range: 12 years to death
Required Training and Experience
Required Minimum Training:

Required Experience: Must have at least 6 months of hospital medicine experience
Preferred Training and Experience:

Preferred Experience: Minimum of 1 year as a Physician Assistant or FNP/AGACNP in Hospital medicine and Psychiatric care or ICU experience.
Degree of Supervision: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will have a Primary Supervising/Collaborating Physician employed by MUSC assigned and will report directly to this physician.

Physical Requirements
Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking, and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions. Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required. Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see, and recognize objects nearby and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift, lower, push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs. (+/-) unassisted, exert up to 50 lbs. of force, lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs. Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces.
