Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Practice Manager the Lead MOA/ LPN /Scheduler oversees daily administrative operations in assigned area. Responsible for providing scheduling staff with direction regarding daily operations. Works closely with Practice Manager to ensure areas are staffed as necessary. Ensures the day-to-day scheduling functions are carried out in an efficient manner to expedite patient flow. Promotes teamwork, professionalism, communication and staff development. The Clinical Lead directs and supervises the clinic staff of the clinic in accordance with federal, state and local regulations and guidelines. The incumbent is responsible for carrying out all established MUSC policies so that the physician(s), mid-level practitioner(s), and office staff may deliver high quality patient care efficiently


Work Duties
•    Assist in the supervision of work and performance of clinic staff including reception, medical
assistants and other support staff, as instructed, including input for performance reviews and corrective action plans as needed .
•    Assist as needed including medication refill requests, specialty and procedure referrals, pre and post clinic chart review.
•    Organize and assign duties and tasks to care team members.
•    Monitor daily performance of clinical team members to ensure duties are completed
accurately, efficiently and timely.
•    Assist medical assistants, nurses and providers with maintaining patient flow to ensure patients are seen timely and efficiently
•    Oversee and train new and existing care team members
•    Provide sick/vacation leave backup for care team members staff when no other resources available.
•    Assist with other administrative projects and tasks as needed

Relationships
•    Reports to Practice Manager and Providers on day to day operations -communication is verbal or in emails

Background Requirements
•    Minimum of two years' experience in an outpatient medical clinic or hospital, medical office setting.
•    Must have excellent written and oral skills, strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills.
•    Must have ability to multitask, manage priorities and workflow.

•    Required to have versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm and have acute attention to details.
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•    Possess the ability to interpret information relative to the patient age related needs.

 Familiarity with EPIC and Microsoft Office a plus
•    Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks based on importance
•    Previous supervisory experience in an outpatient medical clinic or hospital, medical office setting required.

Other Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. Graduate from an accredited school for medical assistant or nursing with current certification/license.

(Licensures, Registrations, Certifications)
Certified with American Medical Technologist (AMT), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Health career Association (NHA), National Association of Healthcare Professionals (NAHP), Medical Career Assessments (MedCA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) or current State of South Carolina Nursing license from the State Board of Nurse Examiners required. Basic Life Support (BLS) with American Heart Association (AHA) required.

Additional Job Description

Bachelor of Nursing degree and a minimum of two years of work experience as a registered nurse required. Current South Carolina licensure as a registered nurse or compact state required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
