Job Description

Essential Functions

1. Communicates with House Supervisor regarding bed assignment.

2. Collaborates with staff to develop individualized plan of care via Interdisciplinary Care Planning rounds.

3. Assesses Performance Improvement Plan activities and assists staff in meeting goals.

4. Collaborates with Director in completing performance evaluations.

5. Facilitates and assists in daily rounding using Studer principles.

6. Coaches staff in hourly rounding, AIDET, ACT, use of white boards, clinical care, etc.

7. Communicates with Director on a regular basis re: day-to-day operational issues.

8. Assists in the daily adjustments to staffing required to have appropriate nurse/patient ratios. Ensures compliance with matrix.

9. Provides first line customer service response. Defuse situations; communicate clearly and appropriately with providers, staff, patients, and visitors.

10. Assigns and/or completes duties listed on charge nurse report sheet, including crash cart checks, pyxis counts and discrepancy resolution, etc.

11. Ensures that quality metrics and core measures are completed in a timely manner to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.

12. Assists Department leaders in orientation of new employees; coaches preceptors.

13. Monitors daily infection prevention and control compliance.

14. Assumes on-call responsibilities as assigned by director.

15. Ensures discharge phone calls are completed in Discharge Call Manager as appropriate.

16. Reviews patient satisfaction data and collaborates with director regarding 90-day improvement plans.

17. All other duties as assigned

Additional Job Description

Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Valid Registered Nurse licensure in SC or multistate licensure required.

Pearl Tourville Women's Pavilion

The Advanced Fetal Care Center ensures that families expecting babies with complex congenital birth defects or medical problems receive care from board-certified maternal-fetal medicine providers collaborating with a large multidisciplinary care team of pediatric specialists. The PTWP care is one of only a handful of women’s facilities in the country to offer couplet-care rooms, where newborns and mothers can recover together in an intensive-care setting.
