Job Description
Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor of Nursing degree or Associates of Nursing degree and currently enrolled in an accredited BSN program with one year of work experience as a Registered Nurse required. Certification in specialty area is strongly preferred. Successful completion of CSL competency-based training is required within a designated time period. Extensive knowledge of the department’s patient population, health care trends, community and regional resources and service availability to these populations. Demonstrated ability to establish effective collegial working relationships with diverse groups and individuals, medical staff, and other healthcare disciplines.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Some positions require certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Certification as a generalist in a related specialty area by the American Nurses Association (ANA) preferred.
