Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.  Some experience is preferred, but not required.  Basic Arrhythmia and CPR certification must be obtained within in1 year of employment. 

Work Environment:

Primarily works in an office environment setting.  Exposure to infectious disease.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

Performs procedures (EKGs, signal average, Holter application) according to standard departmental policies.

Ensures that originals are prepared for physician review as soon as possible.

Check file for previous record of each patient and make copies available to requesting physician. Performs miscellaneous clerical duties for the department including typing, filing, and charting. Enters procedural charges into the computer system.

Documents in the proper ledger book all procedures completed. Schedules patients for all procedures.

EKG machines clean and stocked with supplies.

Performs other miscellaneous duties as required by physicians, directors, and supervisors.

Physical Requirements:

Physical requirements are primarily related to the essential functions of any job. In order to perform the essential functions of this position, you must be able to stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk and hear.

Must be able to lift or exert energy up to 10 pounds 100 % of the time.  Close vision and Color Vision are required.

Must possess the ability to read and interpret business or safety manuals, clinical or technical procedures or regulations. Ability to write reports, correspondence and/or manuals. Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, patients, families, other employees, and medical staff.

No or limited mathematical skills required.

Must possess the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Must possess the ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables and standardized situations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Current Basic Life Support (BLS), either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
