Job Description/Summary:

The Imaging Supervisor at MUSC Midlands plays a critical role in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the radiology department. Job Description:

  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and lead a team of radiologic technologists and support staff.
    • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate departmental goals and updates.
    • Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance evaluations for staff.
  • Operational Management
    • Oversee daily operations of the radiology department, ensuring efficient workflow and patient throughput.
    • Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures.
    • Coordinate staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and minimal downtime.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as hospital policies.
    • Monitor and maintain quality control standards for all imaging procedures.
    • Oversee the maintenance and calibration of radiology equipment.
  • Patient Care
    • Ensure high standards of patient care and safety are maintained.
    • Address and resolve patient concerns and complaints promptly and professionally.
    • Foster a patient-centered environment and promote patient satisfaction.
  • Administrative Duties
    • Manage departmental budgets, including supply inventory and equipment purchases.
    • Prepare and submit reports on departmental performance and metrics.
    • Participate in departmental and hospital-wide committees as needed.
  • Training and Development
    • Coordinate ongoing education and training for radiology staff.
    • Ensure staff certifications and licensures are up-to-date.
    • Implement new technologies and procedures, providing necessary training to staff.

Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in radiology, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.


Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations:  ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required. State licensure in radiologic technology.

Additional Job Description
