Job Description Summary

The Laboratory Associate II performs moderate and high complexity testing under the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager. This position performs routine laboratory testing, quality control testing, general and instrument maintenance, calling of critical and questionable results to appropriate providers, and resulting of test using laboratory information systems.  Additionally, this role performs general troubleshooting of instrumentation, communicating technical information to appropriate persons.

Provides technical support for laboratory operations. Assembles, configures, and maintains equipment for use in tests and experiments. Operates equipment, mixes chemical solutions, and performs analytical tests as assigned. Records test results and maintains records as instructed. Complies with all safety guidelines

Additional Job Description

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations:           

  • Doctorate or Master’s degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences including:
    • 24 semester hours of science courses that include:
      • Six semester hours of chemistry
      • Six semester hours of biology
      • 12 semester hours of any combination of chemical or biological sciences

The PTWP care is one of only a handful of women’s facilities in the country to offer couplet-care rooms, where newborns and mothers can recover together in an intensive-care setting.
