Job Description Summary
The Licensed Social Worker (LMSW) reports to the Social Work Manager for the Institute of Psychiatry. This position provides a wide variety of direct social worker services in an acute care psychiatric setting for a complex caseload of patients including psychosocial assessment, discharge planning, case management, group therapy and related documentation in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary treatment team. This position identifies risk factors that the patient may experience after discharge and applies discharge interventions to lower the patient risk of an undesirable event post discharge. The Social Worker bridges the discharge to outpatient provider with the patient to address issues and questions.Entity

Job Description
The Licensed Social Worker (LMSW) reports to the Social Work Manager for the Institute of Psychiatry. This position provides a wide variety of direct social worker services in an acute care psychiatric setting for a complex caseload of patients including psychosocial assessment, discharge planning, case management, group therapy and related documentation in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary treatment team. This position identifies risk factors that the patient may experience after discharge and applies discharge interventions to lower the patient risk of an undesirable event post discharge. The Social Worker bridges the discharge to outpatient provider with the patient to address issues and questions.
This is a 3 day a week (24 hours) part-time social work position that will require variable scheduling and floating to meet the needs of our census. This Social Worker will be trained for psychiatric inpatient care. When this social worker is not floating for coverage needs, they will be the 2nd social work on the Senior Care Unit (Geri-Psych) at the IOP. Social worker must be licensed as a LMSW at the time of hire in the State of South Carolina.
Additional Job Description
Education:
Master's degree in a social work or social welfare program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. LMSW licensure by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners required.
Requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently. Demonstrates ability to collaborate in a positive, professional manner with medical professionals. Requires ability to work in a thorough but efficient manner.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations :
LMSW licensure by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners.
