Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Enterprise Communication Manager to lead our internal and external communication strategies. This role is crucial in ensuring the organization’s messaging aligns with its mission and values while actively engaging stakeholders across all levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate communications, media, event planning, production and/or crisis management and pay special attention to details. This role will report to the Senior Director of Enterprise Communications.
Key Responsibilities:
45% Executive Communications, and other duties as assigned:
- Draft relevant and impactful remarks, speeches, and presentations in the voice of executives and key leadership members.
- Enhance the effectiveness of leadership communication strategies to ensure maximum impact.
25% Event Planning and Management:
- Plan and execute internal leadership events and retreats, ensuring an organized, educational and engaging experience.
- Lead the Communications planning and execution of key events including groundbreaking, topping-out ceremonies, ribbon-cutting and other milestones with a well-defined run of show, remarks, media materials, etc.
- Coordinate with colleagues on all event logistics to ensure high-end production.
- Emcee events, as needed and requested
10% Crisis Communications:
- Develop and implement crisis communication strategy and plan for (immediate, emerging, sustained) weather-related and other emergency events, keeping clear and prompt communication with stakeholders. Counsel management on risks and develop appropriate responses by audience. Keep plans current and evaluate after an event to revise plans when needed. Assist as the on-site communications leader for all weather-related events.
10% Studio Productions, Media Training, Video Content Creation:
- Create and manage a studio environment (“MUSC Live”) for enterprise communication updates, ensuring high-quality production of live and recorded content.
-Capture iPhone recorded ‘man on the street’ footage, b-roll, etc. for internal/external use across the team
-Lead media spokesperson training.
- Develop physician and other videos
- Train internal physician liaisons on best practices for capturing high-quality videos, enhancing overall content quality.
5% Playbook Development:
- Develop a comprehensive playbook(s) to guide how to run effective events that can be used as a reference for future planning and execution.
5% Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with various departments to ensure alignment of communication strategies, messaging and voice toward goal achievement.
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate effective communication that produces the intended outputs and outcomes of objectives and strategies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in media, production, communications, event management, or related roles.
- Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills. Proficiency in AP Style is a plus.
-Excellent PowerPoint skills.
- Proven experience in crisis communications and event planning.
- Excellent organizational skills and diligence.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Proficiency in video production and editing software.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 7 years progressive work experience and 2 years management experience
