Job Description Summary

Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Records test results, inspects and maintains equipment, and orders supplies when needed. Reviews physician requisition orders and instructions concerning patient preparation for ultrasound procedure.

Job Description

The Staff Technologist provides patient services using imaging modalities and performs diagnostic procedures. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures, provides patient care essential to imaging procedures, recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures, and establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments, and Medical Staff. Performs imaging services “On Call” as needed.

PRN Status Clause:

This is a PRN as-needed position, you must be available to work at least 12 hours bi-weekly, as needed according to departmental demands. You may be required to work additional hours if requested by your supervisor to accomplish work objectives. Work hours may vary (increase or decrease) depending on the needs of the unit

Additional Job Description

Education:  Graduate from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Ultrasound Technology

Licenses/Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification is required, Advanced registration is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) with the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
