Job Description Summary
The Benefits Administrator will serve as a point of contact for employees between the employee and PEBA. They will ensure employees are enrolled in the appropriate benefit plans and collaborate with other areas to ensure accuracy of elections and deductions. They will provide counsel and assistance to employees for enrollment and changes to benefits.Entity

Job Description
30% - Provide counsel and assistance in the enrollment of benefits, changing benefits, enrollment in Retirement plans, etc. Provide individual or group counseling as necessary or requested. Overview information re: Supplemental Retirement plans with employees. Ensure forms, file and pertinent documentation received and retained. Provide counsel and process applicable paperwork re: Retirement and Disability Retirement. Make recommendations or initiate changes to improve processes and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, initiate and ensure cost saving practices are applied at all times. (Essential)
20% - Assist new employees with initial benefits enrollment and changes to existing benefits. Ensure that all appropriate benefits and payroll documentation for new employees is processed timely and accurately. Utilize electronic systems at all times to reduce the number of errors. Correct enrollment forms and/or related documents that have been returned from the state office by identifying the problems and if necessary contacting the employee to assist and facilitate resolution. Act as the intermediary between the state offices and employees to handle exceptions and extraordinary situations. - (Essential)
20% - Enter benefit elections into OurDay and coordinate with Payroll regarding benefit deductions to ensure accuracy. Collaborate with Entity Benefits Teams and OurDay Sustainment Team regarding benefit corrections and issues to ensure accuracy of deductions. Contact employees when necessary to discuss and resolve benefits related issues in OurDay. – (Essential)
10% - Coordinate with the Benefits Manager and vendors to ensure employee’s supplemental retirement plan contributions are received and process timely for the appropriate payroll. Ensure contribution amounts are accurate in Workday and make necessary adjustment as needed with appropriate authorization. Collaborate with Payroll, MUHA, and MUSC Physicians to ensure participants do not exceed IRS limits. - (Essential)
10% - Coordinate and deliver MUSC University New Employee Orientation utilizing multimedia tools. Conduct exit interviews with separating employees. Ensure that COBRA letters are sent to separating employees within the federal guidelines. Review feedback from exiting employees to determine areas of concern. Analyze feedback and report concerns to Employee Relations or HR Director as appropriate. - (Essential)
10% - Engage in various benefits related activities to include: Resident Orientation, Benefits Fair, Seminars, etc. to promote benefits and provide information- (Essential)
Preferred Experience & Additional Skills: Knowledge of HR practices, PEBA policies and plans, and Workday experience.
