Incumbent will monitor, maintain adjust, and repair electrical distribution systems owned or leased by the Medical University enterprise in order to ensure safety and reliability of emergency and normal power electrical systems. Incumbent should have a working knowledge of all electrical systems including, but not limited to, Generators, ATS, MCC, Drives, Motors, Distribution Center, and Distribution Panels. The incumbent will, on a rotating basis, be on call for one week and work a scheduled weekend shift. Incumbent is Considered Essential Personnel in a disaster.Entity

Job Description
Incumbent will monitor, maintain adjust, and repair electrical distribution systems owned or leased by the Medical University enterprise in order to ensure safety and reliability of emergency and normal power electrical systems. Incumbent should have a working knowledge of all electrical systems including, but not limited to, Generators, ATS, MCC, Drives, Motors, Distribution Center, and Distribution Panels. The incumbent will, on a rotating basis, be on call for one week and work a scheduled weekend shift. Incumbent is Considered Essential Personnel in a disaster.
Job Responsibilities:
30% - Performs preventive maintenance and safely checks on high voltage equipment, all electrical control panels. Automatic transfer switch and run emergency generators.
25% - Makes emergency repairs to electrical apparatus.
20% - Locates and corrects power failures and short circuits.
15% - Repairs electrical motors, lighting and lighting circuits, appliances generators and various other equipment.
5% - Required Level 1 Thermography certification completed within one year of hire date.
5% - Reads blueprints and installs conduits, wire mold, wiring and lighting systems, control panels, pulling wire, and installing other electrical equipment in new and old buildings. Performs other related duties as required, also drives truck.

Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and three years trade experience that is directly related to the area of employment. Some positions require a commercial driver's license. Some positions require EPA-approved freon recovery certification. (Continuous) Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. (Continuous) Ability to operate winches, come-alongs, jacks, etc. (Continuous) Possess maintain dexterity in order to use hand tools, both manual and powered. (Continuous) Ability to qualify physically for respirator use. (Continuous) Additional New Requirements: Ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers license.
