Job Description
Job summary: The Department of Pediatrics is searching for an Accountant/Fiscal Analyst II position that will coordinate and implement the general fiscal, administrative, and research grant pre-award and post-award needs. All duties will be expected to be completed within the policies and procedures set forth for finances and grants accounting. The Department of Pediatrics is supportive of employee growth, professional development/career development and performance evaluations on a yearly basis.
Duties:
35% - Under the guidance of the Grants Team Manager and Director of Research Administration, this applicant will Review new accounts in Our Day / accounting system(s) (Budgets, AR invoices, F&A account, subawards tracking, tuition, internal service payments, vendor set-up)
25% - Review and approve of research purchases for assigned divisions for allowability within the project budget and consonant with State and University procurement policies. Extensive knowledge of Federal, State, and University purchasing rules and regulations is required. Review and approval of research travel in Our Day per State and University guidelines and within the project budget.
20% Maintain and monitor financial tracking through the accounting system(s), and internal databases for assigned divisions including monthly reconciliations (ie: Our Day processes to include but not limited to REQ/SI/SIR/POs/JEs and reconciliation of closing POs)
10% Under the guidance of the Grants Team Manager and Director of Research Administration, this applicant will 1) Prepare and send invoices to sponsors as required per project agreements; 2) Assist in the review of Effort Certifications; 3) monitor incoming funds (i.e. AR and unclaimed cash)
5% - Under the guidance of the Grants Team Manager and Director of Research Administration, this position will 1) assist with the preparation of grant and contract proposals and supplements including budgets, budget justifications, biosketches, F&A Waivers, letters of intent, and other documents as needed; 2) Upload and enter proposals and supplements into application systems as required 3) Create / Update other support documents.
5% - Other duties as assigned.
Level of supervision:
Applicants must have the ability to independently manage tasks and assignments with minimal oversight, problem-solving through to completion.
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
A high school diploma and three years professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing, finance or commercial lending. A bachelor's degree with multiple accounting courses may be substituted for two years of the required work experience

The Advanced Fetal Care Center ensures that families expecting babies with complex congenital birth defects or medical problems receive care from board-certified maternal-fetal medicine providers collaborating with a large multidisciplinary care team of pediatric specialists. The PTWP care is one of only a handful of women’s facilities in the country to offer couplet-care rooms, where newborns and mothers can recover together in an intensive-care setting.
