Job Description

The Grants Coordinator II will provide support and accountability of assigned research awards/projects of the Department of Pediatrics, under the direction of the Grants Administrator, Research Team Leader and the Resource Director. Daily responsibilities involve research grantsmanship support for pre- and post-award functions, budgeting/forecasting, financial management, reporting and billing activities.

This position may be eligible for partial remote work after an orientation period.

(25%): Review grant proposals, applications, and contracts to advance compliance with related agencies and affiliates including MUSC (Office of Research and Sponsored Programs and Sponsors and Grants and Contracts Accounting) and Sponsors (NIH, DHEC, etc.). Provides preparation assistance and support for the application process through collaboration with other employees, departments, and other factfinding actions and meetings. Completes first level review of grant applications and contracts for completeness prior to grant submission based upon a reasonable interpretation of the grant's scope, goals, and priorities.

 (25%): Work closely with grant administrators during resubmissions, no-cost extensions, and non-competing applications to accurately reflect financial information when assisting in preparing requests/responses to sponsors. Provide assistance to grants administrators regarding grant certifications, sub awards, and other post award tasks.

(20%): Monitor the management of grants and contracts. Maintain status of awards to track budget extensions, renewal applications, supplemental requests and other related changes potentially impacting scope, goals and priorities. Develops and maintains master files on grants and paperwork generated and connected to programs funded by grants. Assist leadership with Department reporting for financial management, billing activities and other related grant performance metrics.

 (15%): Collaborate with the Fiscal Analyst in the processing of research procurement to include purchases, reimbursements, payment of invoices, and the DLAR and Infinity processes in conjunction with the related MUSC Departments.

 (10%): Attend and participate in meetings and the development of departmental processes and policies.

 (5%): Other duties as assigned.

MUSC Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:

A bachelor's degree and two years business, personnel, grant-in-aid or public administration experience.

Pearl Tourville Women's Pavilion

The PTWP care is one of only a handful of women’s facilities in the country to offer couplet-care rooms, where newborns and mothers can recover together in an intensive-care setting.
