Job Description
As a major research university, we are well positioned to support faculty candidates who have strong or developing programs of research in areas of adult oncology, cancer survivorship, and cancer care delivery and outcomes. Preference will be given to applicants with active research that aligns with the position, consideration will be given to the applicants with projects of research within the last 5 years that align with the position. Research is encouraged to focus on the cancer center’s catchment area, which features a high proportion of patients who are racially and ethnically diverse, rural, and medically underserved. This faculty appointment would include mentorship of junior faculty and students and emphasize relationship building with our community of investigators to progress programs of research consistent with the college and cancer center missions.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Earned doctorate in nursing or a doctorate in a related field
• Demonstrated expertise in a defined area of nursing
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS CONSISTENT WITH DESIRED RANK
• Recognized record of accomplishment via publication in leading journals
• Current or historical ability to establish or maintain extramurally funded research program
• Licensed Registered Nurse and eligible for licensure in the state of South Carolina

Hollings Cancer Center: MUSC Hollings Cancer Center is South Carolina’s only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center with the largest academic-based cancer research program in the state. The cancer center comprises more than 130 faculty cancer scientists and 20 academic departments. It has an annual research funding portfolio of more than $44 million and sponsors more than 200 clinical trials across the state. Dedicated to preventing and reducing the cancer burden statewide, the Hollings Office of Community Outreach and Engagement works with community organizations to bring cancer education and prevention information to affected populations.
