Job Description Summary

The MUSC Department of Radiology & Radiological Science is seeking a faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level for the Vascular Interventional
Radiology (VIR) Division, specializing in Pediatric Interventional Radiology, to grow and expand the existing service. Shaun Jenkins Hospital for Children, the
flagship children’s hospital in South Carolina, in collaboration with the adult VIR Division at MUSC, is focused on growing a dedicated Pediatric VIR service.
Successful candidate may participate in clinical services of the adult VIR Division as available, including performance and interpretation of exams, management of
hospital-based and outpatient clinics, and participation in multidisciplinary conferences. The current Pediatric VIR service includes an established vascular
malformation practice and transplant interventions. As the Pediatric VIR service grows, this faculty member, along with selected adult VIR faculty and Diagnostic
Pediatric Radiology faculty members, will become responsible for all pediatric VIR procedures and practice building, in formulating this dedicated Pediatric service.
The VIR Division currently performs 8,000 cases/year in state-of-the-art Angiography, US and CT equipment. A new Pediatric VIR angio suite is currently under
installation at the children’s hospital.

The VIR Division currently performs 8,000 cases/year in state-of-the-art Angiography, US and CT equipment. A new Pediatric VIR angio suite is currently under
installation at the children’s hospital.

A prior adult Vascular Interventional Radiology fellowship/residency and certification (or eligibility) by the American College of Radiology are required as is the completion of a Pediatric VIR fellowship. 


Successful candidate will participate in all academic activities of the Division, including didactic teaching sessions for fellows/residents and medical students. Research initiatives are required. 

Requirements:  MD or DO degree; fellowship training in Vascular Interventional Radiology. 
Applicants must have American Board of Radiology certification or eligibility, and must obtain a permanent SC medical license

Pearl Tourville Women's Pavilion

Housed within MUSC SJCH, the Pearl Tourville Women’s Pavilion (PTWP) seamlessly integrates children’s care and obstetrical services, thereby enhancing safety and improving outcomes in low and high-risk pregnancies. The Advanced Fetal Care Center ensures that families expecting babies with complex congenital birth defects or medical problems receive care from board-certified maternal-fetal medicine providers collaborating with a large multidisciplinary care team of pediatric specialists. The PTWP care is one of only a handful of women’s facilities in the country to offer couplet-care rooms, where newborns and mothers can recover together in an intensive-care setting.
