Job Description Summary

Under general supervision, the successful candidate would be responsible for administering the operations and reporting features of all parking-related technology, including a parking management system and parking access and revenue control system that impacts over 15,000 people. A vital function of this position will be the ability to take complex, technically specific data and advocate for the department’s needs to people without the same technical expertise.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • 25% - Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution. Operates and monitors console systems, peripheral equipment, computing, and networking systems. Analyze complex business problems, such as parking access challenges or systems failures, and assess how automated systems or process changes can be implemented to solve them. Work with the various stakeholders to ensure that the issues are being escalated through the use of vendor service tickets and internal trackers to make sure that issues are being completed within a reasonable time frame and leaders are being updated.
  • 25% - Quality Control and Data Entry. Work with the various parking management teams to ensure that there are standardized processes for the setup of parkers and the maintenance of their data. Create standard operating procedures for the setup process and conduct spot checks on new user setup. Report regularly to the parking leadership team on challenges from the system or recommendations for new processes or policies as a result of the internal checks. Work with the finance team to ensure that all data for employee billing is accurate and to assess and determine issues with the various systems integrations.
  • 20% - Training and communications. Serve as the department’s primary administrator for user access and training regarding the parking management system and parking access and revenue control system. Train end users to operate existing technology equipment, assist with cross-training colleagues where applicable, create necessary training and procedure documents to assist staff and support personnel on applications and devices used. Serve as the primary liaison with the Business Operations Support Center, Information Solutions, and the respective vendors.
  • 15%—Systems implementation. Assist in formulating and designing business objectives and scope for system implementations. Facilitate the process of vetting vendors and technologies to address campus parking pain points. Make recommendations to leadership about new methodologies for addressing pain points. Monitor access systems to make sure they are meeting the campus's needs.
  • 10%—Reporting and administrative support. Works with all teams in the Office of Parking Management to support various parker enrollment and billing functions. Utilize the parking management system to make recommendations for changes to those enrollment functions to the management team. Routinely provide various reports from the respective parking systems to leadership. Perform various administrative functions in support of the department’s leadership and the customer service team.
  • 5% - Performs other duties as assigned in furtherance of the mission of the Office of Parking Management and University Business Operations.

MUSC Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:

A high school diploma and one year of work experience in systems development and maintenance, technical support, or the support of database management systems. A bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience.
