Job Description
The Part-Time Manager should possess strong supervisory skills to effectively lead and teach part-time, work study students, and student employees. This includes instructing them on important skills related to customer service, cleaning, disinfecting, and other relevant tasks in the fitness areas. In addition to overseeing the cleanliness of the fitness room, the staff member is responsible for member engagement, membership desk procedures, and managing all closing procedures. It is imperative that they are not only supervising, but also actively involved in cleaning and disinfecting themselves. Furthermore, the individual must have excellent people skills, communication abilities, and sales skills. They should be capable of conducting engaging tours and aiding members in the fitness area. This assistance involves interacting with members, offering guidance on fitness equipment usage, and effectively communicating information about services, programs, and Wellness Center events.
Shifts assignments include:
5am-10am M/W/F + 2 weekend days/month
or
5am-10am T/Th, 2pm-7pm F + 2 weekend days/month
Responsibilities
25% Assists the membership desk staff by greeting members, helping with membership and service sales, processing transactions, and supporting professional tours and breaks.
25%: Performs daily equipment checks, reports any equipment repairs needed, cleans and disinfects equipment during shift and performs equipment maintenance as instructed. Constantly makes rounds through he assigned fitness area(s), engaging with the members.
20%: Provides equipment instruction and exercise suggestions for new members. Keeps updated on programs, services, and special events and communicates to members to capture revenue and support member retention.
20%: Serves as morning supervisor/MOD when needed. Responsible for facility opening ensuring that all equipment is clean, disinfected, and in its proper place. Performs building rounds throughout the shift inspecting all areas and reporting all concerns to supervisor or director. Assists with the upkeep of the pool, checking proper chemicals and CO2 tanks. Assists with the pool vacuum when needed
10%: Ensures proper emergency procedures are followed in any emergency event. Ensures all policies and procedures of the Wellness Center are being followed by members, guests and staff. Attends and actively participates in staff training as scheduled. Maintains CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications and can perform first responder duties for May Day situations and instruct others through May Day procedures. Reports all concerns to supervisor and director immediately.
