UNIV - Research Program Coordinator I - Psychiatry: Brain Stimulation Laboratory

Job Description Summary

This position is assigned to the Brain Stimulation Laboratory for the purpose of assisting, coordinating, planning and implementing human research protocols, including cross-section and clinical trials. This includes but is not limited to subject recruitment, testing, sample selections, data recording, etc. in human research. This job will also include career development mentoring and opportunities for those interested in pursuing graduate work in medicine, neuroscience, engineering, psychology or related fields.

This individual will assist with studies of non-invasive brain stimulation (rTMS, focused ultrasound) for improving regulation of cognition and emotion among healthy participants and patients with neuropsychiatric (PTSD, addiction) and neurodegenerative disorders (stroke, dementia). The individual will gain experience with transcranial magnetic stimulation, EEG/ERPs, physiological measures (startle reflex, autonomic) and MRI and tasks of emotional and cognitive performance. The individual will also gain experience with self-report measures and behavioral tasks that index difficulties such as inattention, stress, anxiety, and depression.

Job Description

FLSA: Hourly

Work Schedule: M-F, 8:00AM - 4:30PM; In person on campus

Payscale Salary Range: UNIV-Band 5: $38,985.00 - $55,559.00 - $72,134.00 (min - mid - max)

Job Duties:

• 15% - This individual will assist with recruitment and screening of research participants, including the development of advertising materials, meeting with and calling potential participants, distribution of advertising materials, and collaborating with relevant providers and researchers. 
• 15% - This individual will obtain informed consent, enroll study participants, conduct study visits as per the protocols and provide education information to subjects. 
• 15% - This individual will assist with non-invasive brain stimulation sessions.
• 15% - This individual will conduct study visits before and after regular working hours when necessary to accommodate the schedules of subjects, MRI availability, etc. 
• 15% - This individual will coordinate proper data management collection according to protocol requirements and compliance.  This individual will maintain behavioral, diagnostic, and EEG/fMRI/physiological data.
• 15% - This individual will conduct data retrieval from large databases for data reporting and analysis.
• 5% - This individual will initiate and maintain accurate and comprehensive records as required by he FDA, the IRB, the sponsors and Good Clinical Practice Guidelines.  This individual will schedule and participate in all sponsor and/or IRB monitoring visits to review study protocols and collected data.
• 5% - This individual will attend weekly staff meetings to review study progress.

Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree and one year of relevant program experience.
