Job Description Summary
A senior staff scientist is sought to assist a neuroscience research lab with the preclinical advancement of multiple novel therapeutics for treating haploinsufficiency syndromes. The applicant must be independent, highly motivated, and have demonstrated ability to work well within a research team. Ideal candidate will have aMD and/or PhD, postdoctoral academic or industry experiences, and a solid track-record of original research publications. Additionally, a strong working knowledge of, and experience with, molecular biology, transcriptomics and genomics, cell biology, neurobiology, and preclinical behavioral testing is desired.Entity

Job Description
Job Duties:
30% - Work with a team of lab scientists to design and execute molecular studies to develop RNA- and recombinant viral therapeutics to treat MEF2Chaploinsufficiency syndrome or related disorders. Involves testing mice for potential mitigation of disorder-related behavioral phenotypes
20% - Explore and develop new therapeutic strategies for modifying gene expression in cell culture and mouse model systems
20% - Develop and characterize new mouse models of MCHS for preclinical development of therapeutics
20% - Assist the PI with generation of peer-reviewed publications and progress reports, which includes the generation of publication-quality figures, detailed experimental methods write-ups, and assistance with manuscript preparation
10% - Participate in lab meetings, departmental programs, including Neuro-WIPS
