Offering an exciting opportunity to be our first Outpatient Radiology Child Life Specialist. This new position, located at our pediatric ambulatory center, will provide psychosocial support to children and families receiving imaging services. You will work closely with other child life specialists and our pediatric radiology team (technicians, nurses, physicians, and others) to create an emotionally safe and supportive experience for children and adolescents.Entity

Job Description
Come join our growing Child Life team in beautiful Charleston, SC. Seeking a creative, energetic and knowledgeable Certified Child Life Specialist to develop and expand ambulatory radiology services for patients ages 0-18 years. This includes providing therapeutic play, developing preparation materials, staff education, and enhancing the patient and family experience. There is a special emphasis on growing our non-sedated MRI program. Besides clinical care, there are opportunities for growth within our clinical ladder framework, research involvement, student supervision, and more.
Additional Job Description
A Master's degree and child life certification (or eligibility) are preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in Child Life and pediatric radiology and/or outpatient experience will be considered. Verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, in a stressful environment, and emotional sensitivity are all important to the success of this role.
